DEAR PARENTS AND CARERS
Happy New Year!
Hope you had a great Christmas holiday. We would like to welcome all of you back to nursery for the new spring term! We would also like to welcome all the new children and their parents to our nursery.
I would like to thank you all for your encouragement and support we have received from you in the last term.
The staff team at Happy Hands for Spring term 2013.
We would like to take this opportunity to mention to everyone about the promotion of healthy eating at Happy Hands. We provide a healthy and balanced menu for children who eat nursery food, and kindly ask that if you provide your child with food for snacks/lunch/dinner, it is also healthy. Thank you.
We have already sent out a letter giving you tips on what we encourage for healthy snacks. We are changing our food menu for the spring/summer term so please feel free to give us suggestions on the snacks and meals we provide.
We are promoting hygiene and self-care wherever possible at nursery. After mealtimes, all children go the bathroom and clean their teeth. If you have not already done so, could you please send a toothbrush and toothpaste for your child/children to be left at the nursery? In which will be kept safely sealed and labeled.
It is also really important that you provide us with a change of clothing (clearly labeled) for your child/children. These will be kept securely in lockers provided in the nursery, also we ask for slippers/indoor shoes which will also be kept at nursery.
I would like to inform that our lunch/dinner money has increased from £3 to £3.50. The cost of the prices was increased to meet the expense for our new dinner lady Sharon Gray.
It is vitally important that you drop off and collect your child at the agreed times. Children cannot be dropped off anytime and collected three hours later. We work on a
staff:child ratio and have to plan for this in advance. Unless you have agreed a change of hours or additional hours with management there will be a charge of £5 for every 15 minutes that you are late, (at the managers’ discretion).
We have entered our setting into a Healthy Setting Scheme within Brent. We will be working closely with outside workers to ensure all children who attend Happy Hands are as healthy as possible. We will keep you all informed of our success! There is a table, containing information leaflets on healthy eating immunization and breastfeeding in our reception area. We welcome you to take any information leaflet you may need or read through the hard copies whilst at the setting. If there are any information leaflets which you would like please ask a member of staff and we will try our best to obtain them for you. ‘BUSY FEET’ is an activity which we want to promote in our nursery; this is a fun and exciting way to ensure children are exercising daily.
